A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Greetings, on behalf of the Significant Sorors of Chi Sigma Omega Chapter! It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.

Chi Sigma Omega is truly Significant in Every Way! We are the 50th graduate chapter chartered in the Central Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and humbly serve the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Our International mandate is Global Leadership Through Timeless Service: meeting the needs of our local and global communities by utilizing the energy, commitment and creativity of our membership in collaboration with other local and national organizations.

Since inception, service is our life’s blood and membership is our heart. Our programs both internationally and locally have sought to and will continue to seek to make a significant difference by providing service to all mankind.

Through the contributions from our Significant Sisters, Community Partners and Fundraising Patrons, we have successfully executed a scholarship program for local graduating seniors, a mentoring program (teens ages 12-18), a financial literacy program, clothing and food drives, a reading program for grades K-3, and provided community awareness regarding health issues, just to highlight a few of our Chapter’s accomplishments. We appreciate all of you who represent our circle of family, friends, partners, sponsors, and patrons and are encouraged by your continued support. Join us, as we continue to develop leadership among our youth, encourage health awareness and healthy actions, educate and practice sound financial practices, promote environmental stewardship, and address issues of social justice and advocacy. We intend to make a difference, with your help.

Membership is the heart of Chi Sigma Omega. We welcome existing members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to visit our business meetings and experience our sisterly embrace. Our chapter culture supports Significant Sisterhood through Service and Support.
